composer/performer Michael Allen Harrison brings his hot new musical to
Lakewood for its world premiere and the start of Lakewood's 56th season.
Co-written with David Bates, the story of Prometheus is about the
legendary Greek who stole the sacred flame of the gods and gave it to man. This
exciting new musical, directed by Greg Tamblyn, features ballads,
big-band swing, children's choruses and ensemble arrangements. Zeus and the
heavens ignite with this epic tale! The title sponsor for Prometheus the

Each performance will feature Michael Allen Harrison
as conductor and pianist. Ticket prices are $28 for adults and $26 for
students and seniors and are available through the Lakewood Theatre Box
Office at (503) 635-3901 or online. The Story: Prometheus (Kirk Mouser), the immortal god of foresight, with the help of the goddess Hope (Erin Charles), brings fire to the race of man. This act is observed by Hermes (Brian Bartley), the jealous son of Zeus who captures him with his henchmen, Cratos (Colin Wood) and Bia (Stephanie Heuston), and forces him to stand trial before the gods. Zeus (Eugene Blackmon) sentences Prometheus to be chained to a rock for eternity and a day. Concerned about mankind, Prometheus asks his brother Epimetheus (Joe Theissen) to be their caretaker. Hermes, suggests that Epimetheus consider Pandora (Julianne R. Johnson-Weiss), the queen of misfortune, to be his mate and the new mother for mankind. But, Pandora opens her box of woe, revealing the evils of the world which forces the children of man to scatter. Fortunately, Hope returns to gather the children back and inspire them. She challenges them to dare to dream and save their father, Prometheus. Two of mankind's children, Atlanta (Kelly Stewart) and Ganymede (Morgan Mallory), take on the challenge to free their lost father. The cast for Prometheus also includes Todd Tschida, Sammuel Hawkins, Meredith Weber, Angela Baldino, Shea Mackinnon, Cole Jackson, Ben Newton, Madison Wray, Clara Hatfield, Evan Shely and Sophia Shely. Prometheus's music is composed and performed by Michael Allen Harrison, book and lyrics are by David Bates, stage direction is by Greg Tamblyn and choreography is by Sara Mishler Martins.
