Roman Martinez  (Neville Landless/Victor Grinstead) is proud and honored to be making his theatrical debut at Lakewood Theatre in this wonderful production.  He began a late start in the Portland theatre scene last year with a cameo role in Stumptown Stages production of Grease.  He is addicted to the magic of the theatre and feels blessed to have made so many new friends.  He hails from Kennewick, Washington but has resided in Portland for the last 15 years.  He is grateful for the love and support from Mom, Steph, Scott, Ron, Alan, Andrew and thanks them for being part of his life.

Darren Hurley (Durdles/Nick Cricker) Darren is glad to be back at Lakewood Theatre.  Some of his previous roles at Lakewood include the OTAS award winning role Pasquale in The Most Happy Fella, Caleb in The Spitfire Grill and his Drammy award winning role of Perkins in Ernest in Love.  Other favorite roles include Man #1 in Sondheim’s Putting it Together for Salem Repertory Theatre, Benny Southstreet in the semi-staged production of Guys & Dolls for the Oregon Symphony, and Steve Bullnack in Paint Your Wagon for the Musical Theatre Company.  When not performing, Darren is an active volunteer with Indigo Rescue.

Portland’s musical Theatre Series, Singin’ in the Rain for Broadway Rose Theatre Company, Inspecting Carol for Artists Repertory Theatre and What Mad Pursuit for Classic Greek Theatre of Oregon.  Drood marks Don’s 100th theatrical production in Oregon.  He has also performed in eight feature films, one TV series and countless radio and TV commercials.  Don is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Society of American Magicians and Willamette Writers.

Other recent Portland credits also include  Beauty and the Beast, Singin’ in the Rain and Christmas from Home, 1942.  Stephanie performed in the Tokyo cast of Encore! at the American Broadway Theater of Japan for one year and then moved to New York City to study Opera.  As a native of Lake Oswego, she is honored and excited to be back and performing locally after all of her travels.  Stephanie is incredibly grateful to family, friends and the audience for the opportunity and support to be on stage performing, her favorite thing to do.

Matthew Alston (James Throttle) returns to the Lakewood stage having previously played the role of Ike Skidmore in Lakewood’s production of Oklahoma! in 2007.  As a pianist he has accompanied various churches, soloists and choirs and has enjoyed playing in the pit for performances of Li’l Abner, Little Shop of Horrors and Grease. Matt is also a classically trained chef and had the honor of studying at the prestigious Ècole de Gastronomie Ritz-Escoffier in Paris. Matt would love to thank Ron for giving him the opportunity to be a part of Drood.
Lisa Herman-Gagnon  (Stage Manager/Violet Balfour/Script Girl) is over the moon to be returning to the Lakewood stage.  Some of her performances for Lakewood Theatre have included Nancy in Oliver!, Jenny Diver in Three Penny Opera and the role of Petra in A Little Night Music.  Lisa made her stage debut in her father’s play Mr. Highpockets, when she was seven and being from a large theatre family, has made the stage her playground ever since.  She would like to send a big thank you to Ron for bringing her back to this playground, her husband Bill for just being the most marvelous man in the world, and looks forward to bothering the stage guru, her brother Kurt Herman, for the entire run.  Be nice to Kurt or I’ll tell Mom!

Fiesta’s Me and Bobby McGee (Edie) Some believe the seldom-referenced character Edie is somehow linked to the disappearance of Edwin Drood. This production marks Bobby’s stage debut and he hopes to grow into other roles like Sandy in Annie and Toto in The Wizard of Oz.
Ron Daum (Director) first appeared on our stage way back in 1990 as seedy but debonair  lawyer Billy Flynn in Chicago and has returned  to be seen in a variety of roles including Billy in Anything Goes, Paul in Carnival and identical twins Frederick and Hugo in Ring Round the Moon.  He has directed our multi-award winning productions of Irene, The Grass Harp, Ernest in Love, The Spitfire Grill, Fiddler on the Roof, Where’s Charley?, Brigadoon, The Most Happy Fella and The Fantasticks.

Locally he has taken on a myriad of  directing projects such as Babes in Arms (Oregon Festival of American Music in Eugene/ OFAM), A Taffeta Christmas (Public Playhouse), Cabaret, Over Here!, Working and Anything Goes (Clark College), Nunsense, The Taffetas, I Love You, You’re Perfect Now Change (Longview Stageworks), Paint Your Wagon and No, No, Nanette (Musical Theatre Company), The Shadowbox (Jack Oakes Theatre) and Silly Goose (an original children’s musical that he also co-authored) (The Broadway Rose Theatre Company).

He is the proud founder of a new program that begins next season here at the Lakewood Theatre Company. The Lost Treasures Collection (LTC at the LTC) will bring lesser know musical theatre pieces in staged readings to our audiences between mainstage productions.
