A Special 2012 Valentine’s Day Event

Do you know the surprising story behind the chocolate chip cookie?  What about the amazing truce between competitors HERSHEY and MARS that produced M&M’s?  How did an Extra-Terrestrial make Reese’s Pieces an overnight sensation? Chocolate Confessions is the hilarious one-woman musical comedy about love, life, and chocolate that answers these questions and more. 

Comedienne Joan Freed takes you through a world of comic confections as she assumes the role of chocolate shop owner Coco Bliss, as well as her mixed assortment of uproarious customers.  Over a dozen characters are portrayed as they confide their stories and songs. 

Ten years ago, Chocolate Confessions premiered at the Lakewood Center for three sold-out Valentine’s performances.  Since then, the show has played to rave reviews in performances across the country, with new sketches and songs added continuously.

This Valentine’s Day, Chocolate Confessions marks its ten-year anniversary with a special performance on Lakewood’s Headlee Mainstage as a fundraiser for the Lakewood Center Associates.

Audience members will be treated to complimentary wine, gourmet chocolates, and other treats, starting at 7:00 PM and again at intermission.Performance begins at 7:30 PM.

Lakewood Center Associates is a support auxiliary of the Lakewood Center for the Arts. In 1984 the Associates were launched with eighteen (18) members and today number over one-hundred-fifty (150 volunteers. Since inception, the Associates have raised over $1 million for the Center. The theatre is located at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. Ticket prices for this benefit performance are $28/all seats ($15 is tax deductible).
