The Call

The Artist's Vision show is looking for your vision. The Artist’s Vision Juried Show, now in its 16th year at the Festival of the Arts, has become a popular venue for both emerging and established 2D and 3D artists. We invite you to apply to the 2015 show with your original work.

The show in a nutshell….

  • Artwork, any subject matter.
  • Artists receive 60% of sales; the Festival gets 40% to continue offering amazing programs for artists!
  • $35.00 for up to three entries. If your work is not selected for the Artists Vision Show, you can apply your fee to enter your work into the Open Show.


The show is open to all 2D and 3D Northwest established and emerging artists.

Works Eligible
Up to three (3) original 2D or 3D works executed in any medium. We are looking for work that has been completed within the last three (3) years and will be available for sale. No work created from imagery of another artist, photographer, or any copyrighted work is eligible. 3D works are limited to 50 pounds.

All 2D work should be framed or have a finished, wrapped canvas edge.

Jury Process and Criteria

Applications will be reviewed by a jury comprised of selected individuals from varied backgrounds who embrace the philosophy and goals of the Festival of the Arts. Artists for the Artist’s Vision Juried Show will be selected based on originality, personal voice, and technical skill. Jurors for the 2015 Artist's Vision Exhibit will be: Paula Booth (Professor of Art & Director for the Cannon Galleryof Art, Western Oregon University, Monmoth, Oregon) and Kelsey L. Grafton (Exhibit and Program Coordinator/Center for Art & History - Lewis-Clark State College, Idaho).


All artwork must be for sale. The price shall be at the discretion of the artist, subject to possible review by the curators. A 40 percent commission from all sales will be retained by the Festival. Prices assigned by the artist shall include the Festival commission. All proceeds benefit the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, a nonprofit organization.

Application Process

 The Festival of the Arts uses an online application system called EntryThingy. You will be asked to submit a complete application on EntryThingy.

Description of Work: A short statement describing your body of work as it relates to this exhibit.

Statement Specific to Entry: A short statement regarding the materials/process and inspiration used in the design and execution of the artwork. We find that our patrons are particularly interested in stories about the artist and specific stories about the artwork.

Images: Up to three (3) digital images of your artwork. Images submitted must accurately represent original artwork to be exhibited (see image format on Entry Thingy).

For do-it-yourself image formatting, go to Larry Berman’s Jury Images. When formatting your images, select 1920x1920 ZAPP™; on the order form under Action. ZAPP™ formatted images are accepted by EntryThingy. There is no charge for this service. However, donations are gladly accepted to keep this service available.

Payment for Application
The $35 nonrefundable fee is good for up to three (3) pieces. Artists not accepted for inclusion may apply the fee to the Open Show entry.

About the Festival of the Arts: The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts is an arts education event of the Lakewood Center for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization. It is held the weekend after Father's Day each year and attracts 22-25,000 people. Contributions to the Festival are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Mission Statement: The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts’ primary goal is to educate by promoting, supporting, coordinating, and exhibiting the arts of the region.

Location/Support: The Festival takes place at the Lakewood Center for the Arts and George Rogers Park, both on State Street in downtown Lake Oswego, Oregon USA. It is sustained by valuable partnerships with the City of Lake Oswego, Clackamas County Tourism and Development Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Oswego Rotary Club, the Lake Oswego School District, small and large businesses, the "Friends of the Festival," plus more than 500 volunteers who work throughout the year and the weekend to make the Festival the success it is.
