The Open Show is the one of the largest shows of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. The show displays work from emerging and professional artists. Everyone is welcome without a jury process. A limited number of cash and non-cash awards are presented each year which are sponsored by area businesses, organizations and individuals. Different arts professionals are selected as judges each year. For info on the 2013 judges, please click here.


  • An entry form/contract is available to download in advance at the above link.
  • It is the artist’s responsibility to bring 3 copies  of each form for each piece submitted on registration day. Hard copy forms will also be available on site the day of registration.
  • Registration fee is $30.00 for three (3) entries per medium for the run of the show and $10 per piece over three(3) pieces. Open to all Northwest artists. Limit: twelve (12) pieces per artist.
  • Show dates: June 21, 22 & 23, 2013.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • A 40% commission will be taken on all sales.
  • Only original artwork created within the last two (2) years and not previously entered at this art show, will be accepted. Please note: NO mechanical prints or giclees accepted. Also, NO copies of other artists’ works or work created in a class.
  •  All entries must be dry, framed, matted and mounted, hung with PICTURE HANGING WIRE. All glass must be properly secured. (No Uniframes, zigger type or rings, garden wire  or string). Your framing will be checked at registration.
  • Hanging will be arranged at the discretion of the curator.
  • All work must hang for the duration of the Festival until 6:30 PM, June 23, 2012
  • Artists must supply security cases for small objects.
  • All art must be picked up at assigned times at registration: Sunday – June 23, 2013, 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM - OR - Monday – June 24, 2013, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Important: You must have your claim check and parking pass.
  • Special note: There is a limit of 12 pieces per artist.

This is the 50th Anniversary of the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts!!!

The Special Exhibition is sporting vignettes evolving around the theme of “SPOON”

The Open Show will be celebrating by having a “Gallery within a Gallery” focused on
"Field to Feast"

There will be a specific area within the tent for all art that depicts anything to do with food!!!

That would be…
Growing, Creating, Serving, or Eating.

The Open Show will still be hanging in our traditional Open Show Style as well… so be sure to bring in your paintings & sculpture for registration on
Father’s Day, June 16th, 1:00-4:00pm.

The Open Show requires all work to be for sale and to be registered on
Fathers' Day, June 16th, 1:00-4:00pm.


The registration fee for the first 3 pieces is $30.00 and then $10.00 for each additional piece up to 12 entries.

The Festival takes a 40% commission when the work is sold.

Diptychs, Triptychs and/or sets are entered & sold with one price. For example...a set of hand thrown wine glasses would be sold together and entered as one piece with one price. A collection of ceramic fruit could be entered & sold as a set. Two paintings that depict a garden of tomatoes that are to be hung together as a diptych are entered & sold with one price as one entry. Traditional single pieces are always welcome.

The sky is the limit in terms of creativity here.

Mission statement: The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts’ primary goal is to educate by promoting, supporting, coordinating and exhibiting the arts of the region.

The Festival of the Arts, celebrating its 50th year, is a major regional non-profit arts event, presenting the creative endeavors of recognized and emerging artists from all facets of the art world. The Festival enjoys an outstanding reputation for bringing special exhibits of quality and diversity to the weekend that are accessible to everyone. Documented numbers show that the Festival attracts 25,000 visitors during the three days of the event. The Festival provides three major exhibition opportunities for artists during the event: The Open Show (an unjuried exhibition open to Northwest artists), The Artist’s Vision (a juried exhibit open to Northwest artists) and the Fine Arts Craft Faire (open to artisans and exhibitors of fine craft work throughout the U.S.).

The Festival, a sub division of Lakewood Theatre Company/Lakewood Center for the Arts, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit arts organization, is committed to arts education, performance and exhibition. Contributions to the Festival are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Our tax ID number is 93-0700108.
