Alan Shearman

Recent Lakewood Role - Director of 'A Flea In Her Ear'

Alan Shearman (Director) came to the U.S. over 30 years ago (though he insists he's in his late 20s) with Low Moan Spectacular, the British comedy theatre group with whom he wrote "El Grande de Coca-Cola", "Footlight Frenzy" and "Bullshot Crummond." All three continue to be performed across the country and around the world. The latter became the movie "Bullshot", which Alan co-wrote and played the lead in. He lives in Los Angeles where he has worked as an actor, writer and voiceover artist both on and off-screen on literally hundreds of movies and TV shows. Sometime during the 80's, Alan 'gave up' the theatre world, but in 1992 he was invited to Lakewood to direct another of his plays, "The Scandalous Adventures of Sir Toby Trollope". He fell in love with the place and since then has directed six more comedies, including "Accomplice", "Lend Me A Tenor" and "Moon Over Buffalo" - all of which won him OTAS awards. Alan is delighted to again be working with his favorites (both long-standing and new) and would like to thank them - and especially Kay Vega and Andrew Edwards - for re-igniting his passion for theatre.
